The Chincoteague Island Library is a privately-supported free library that serves the residents of Chincoteague Island and Northern Accomack County, Virginia, and many seasonal visitors.
COMING SOON!! Visiting the Chincoteague National Refuge has never been easier. You will be able to purchase your entrance pass online. You can select from a daily, weekly, or refuge annual pass. Temporary annual passes can be printed and used while your annual pass is sent to you via mail. Daily and weekly passes can be printed and used immediately as well, making your visit easy.

Local and national carvers and artists of all kinds exhibit and sell their works. Awards are given in various categories including the Curtis Merritt Award of Excellence given to the artist who demonstrates the highest standards of "creativity, character and overall goodness" as voted on by the other exhibitors. Best Carver and Best Artist are chosen by People's Choice and the Best Photograph of Chincoteague or Assateague is chosen by the committee. Wooden Easter Eggs decorated by the exhibitors highlight the show each year with some fetching handsome sums. There will be no live auction on Saturday night.
